The Cable Diaries

Extracts from the work diaries of Mr Gerald Dancer, who was contracted at RAF Blakehill during its transition into a cold war monitoring station, to remove some of the WW2 airfield infrastructure.   He delivered and joined cables and brought other equipment on the site and during his time there had no idea what the cables were for, due to the secrecy of the site.

My sincere thanks to his wife, Mrs Marcia Dancer who wrote to me in January 2018 with copies of these fascinating records. including details of his visits to other airfields.
