In January 2017 we were invited to survey and record our findings in the former Gas Defence Building which stands on the Chelworth Industrial Estate and can be shown on the aerial photo here by the arrow.

 

We were asked to record any potentially historical items due to the building being used by the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and requiring urgent stabilizing due to a huge crack appearing in the end wall.

 

The building was used as a workshop after the war and some interesting items were recorded, including parts of a ministry first aid kit and some huge spiders.

 

An interesting but nasty place to enter as you can see by the state of the photos - also PRIVATE PROPERTY - the spiders are as big as your head - don't test them.
