Tiger Moths at Blakehill

Very grateful to Stuart McKay, Secretary of The de Havilland Moth Club Ltd, who has confirmed to me, two Tiger Moths that were attached to the airfield and used as light transport and shuttle flights between RAF Blakehill, Down Ampney, and Broadwell

Sadly both aircraft didn't survive the war - both airframes were written off.

To 25 [P]EFTS Hucknall 12.6.41; coded ‘10’.

Overturned on landing Hucknall 20.4.43; to W Mumford for repairs

1.5.43; to 20 MU Aston Down 9.8.43.

To RAF Blakehill Farm 2.12.44.

Crashed into hedge in forced landing Yanworth, Glos 11.12.44.

Soc 22.12.44.
