The compass swing pan has its own nod to the cold war phase of the airfield, with the remains of a radio mast base still in situ.

 

Measuring 3 meters across, the ring feature hints to the original equipment installed being able to rotate.

 

Close by to the south is a 1 metre square plinth feature with equipment mounting bolts still in place.
